Month-long series of affordable, practical workshops on tools, software and technologies for performing arts management

About The Workshop Series

These workshops will be a beginner-level introduction to different tools and softwares needed for performing arts management.

 

Suited for all stakeholders within the performing arts – performers, practitioners, arts managers, venue managers – these sessions are geared towards those who are looking to move their individual artistic practice (or that of a collective) to the digital space or wish to expand their existing scale of operations with technology.

 

No prior experience is needed for any of the sessions.

About The Facilitator

Gaurav Singh is a theatre-maker, marketing consultant and production manager based in New Delhi, India. He is the production manager at Kaivalya Plays, a Delhi-based independent theatre company known for their work in applied improvisation and adaption of foreign-language texts. Here, he co-instituted the Theatre Management Fellowship, a unique training initiative focused on the strategic management and creative administration in the performing arts, leading the technical training and development of the 5 selected Fellows.

 

He brings the experience of working in high-paced growth-oriented startup environment to the arts and cultural world. In his professional capacity as a marketer, he has worked with companies like Atlan, SocialCops, Josh Talks, LTG Delhi, ParallelHQ, FreshMenu and others. Gaurav was awarded the Gender Bender grant in 2019 and has received the prestigious Chevening Scholarship in 2020 to pursue an MA Advanced Theatre Practice at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Kaivalya Plays is a Delhi-based collective of independent theatre practitioners led by Varoon P. Anand as its Artistic Director and Gaurav Singh Nijjer as Production Manager. Registered in New Delhi as a society since 2013, Kaivalya Plays has strived to increase the presence of women in theatre, mentor new talent and design innovative experiences for spectators.

 

Over the course of six years, they have worked consistently, been very noisy, and built associations with the institutions all across India. Since 2012, the team has worked with many diplomatic institutions like the Embassy of Spain and Instituto Cervantes, Embassy of Argentina, Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhawan in Delhi and Bangalore, among others, to produce cross-cultural theatre productions in English, Hindi, and Spanish. The team has also undertaken a slew of community-building initiatives through theatre training workshops, dramatized readings, installations, festivals, and more.
